The ASTRO N5 CHSM72N(DG)F-BH uses Canadian Solar's New BNPI (Bifacial Power Injection) N-type TOPCon cell technology. TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivating Contact) cells achieve higher open-circuit voltage through superior surface passivation, while the New BNPI process enhances rear-side current injection for improved bifacial performance. Dual Glass Construction for Long-Term Durability

The DG (Dual Glass) construction replaces the conventional back sheet with a second tempered glass panel, eliminating moisture ingress through the rear surface and providing superior fire resistance. Dual glass modules are certified for higher mechanical load resistance and demonstrate significantly better performance in damp heat testing — making them the preferred choice for humid coastal environments, agricultural installations, and projects requiring extended design life beyond 30 years.
