New BNPI TOPCon
The ASTRO N5 CHSM72N(DG)F-BH uses Canadian Solar's New BNPI (Bifacial Power Injection) N-type TOPCon cell technology. TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivating Contact) cells achieve higher open-circuit voltage through superior surface passivation, while the New BNPI process enhances rear-side current injection for improved bifacial performance. N-type silicon eliminates boron-oxygen LID defects, delivering first-year degradation ≤ 1% and annual degradation ≤ 0.40% — ensuring maximum energy yield over the 30-year project lifetime.
Up to 22.8% Efficiency
The 600W variant achieves up to 22.8% module efficiency in the compact 2278×1134×30mm format — enabled by N-type TOPCon cells with advanced passivation and multi-busbar interconnection. The bifacial dual glass (DG) construction captures rear-side reflected irradiance, adding up to 30% additional energy yield on ground-mount and elevated rooftop installations. The black frame (BH) design provides a premium aesthetic for commercial rooftop applications while maintaining full structural integrity and IP68 weatherproofing.
Dual Glass DG
The DG (Dual Glass) construction replaces the conventional back sheet with a second tempered glass panel, eliminating moisture ingress through the rear surface and providing superior fire resistance. Dual glass modules are certified for higher mechanical load resistance and demonstrate significantly better performance in damp heat testing — making them the preferred choice for humid coastal environments, agricultural installations, and projects requiring extended design life beyond 30 years. The 2278×1134×30mm format is optimised for container logistics efficiency.
30-Year Warranty
Canadian Solar backs the ASTRO N5 with a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power output warranty — guaranteeing ≥ 87.4% of rated power at year 30. First-year degradation is ≤ 1%, and annual degradation from year 2 onwards is ≤ 0.40% — better than P-type PERC modules (≥ 0.55%/year).
