Aurea Energy has designed a compact 15kW / 30kWh Hybrid Energy Storage System for a residential client in Belgium. Built around the Deye SUN-15K-SG01HP3-EU-AM2 three-phase hybrid inverter, this system provides reliable backup power, solar self-consumption optimisation, and intelligent energy management for the modern Belgian home.
The hybrid architecture integrates a 10kWp solar PV array (2 strings of 8 panels) with a 30kWh LFP battery bank through a single intelligent inverter. During normal operation, solar energy powers the home loads directly, with surplus stored in the battery. In the event of a grid outage, the system automatically switches to backup mode — powering essential household loads from the battery. The main meter connection enables full energy monitoring and smart tariff optimisation.

The SUN-15K-SG01HP3-EU-AM2 is a three-phase hybrid inverter from Deye, a tier-1 global manufacturer. It supports simultaneous PV input, battery charging/discharging, and AC output — all managed through an integrated EMS that optimises energy flow based on real-time conditions.
The system employs a clean single-inverter hybrid topology. The 16-panel PV array feeds DC power directly into the Deye inverter through two MPPT channels. The 30kWh LFP battery connects via the inverter's dedicated battery terminals (B+/B- and BCW1 communication port). On the AC side, the main meter sits between the utility grid and the main breaker, providing the inverter with real-time grid data. Downstream, the AC breaker splits into two branches: the normal home load circuit and a dedicated backup load circuit — ensuring critical appliances remain powered during outages while non-essential loads are shed automatically.
Belgium's residential electricity prices are among the highest in Europe, making solar-plus-storage an increasingly attractive investment. This 15kW / 30kWh hybrid system delivers measurable savings and energy security for Belgian homeowners.
